Colorado Fall Equine Photography Adventure

Some places just keep calling you back, and Colorado in the fall is certainly one of them.

Our Colorado Fall Equine Photography Adventure is a great place to capture the full essence of Autumn!

I just returned home from our Cowgirls with Cameras Trappers Lake Lodge Adventure in the beautiful Flat Tops Wilderness with another great group of eager photographers. Colorado did not disappoint!

A big thank-you to everyone who helped make this adventure such a success, from our wonderful attendees and fabulous models to the entire team at Trappers Lake Lodge. And, of course, a special thanks to Becca and Kaysyn for all the time, effort, and heart they put into making this experience so memorable. We couldn’t do it without you!

The photographs matter, but so do the friendships, the laughter, the shared meals, the effort that goes into creating photographic opportunities, and the experience of spending time in a place that keeps drawing you back.

Thanks to Iain, Liam (all the way from the UK), Breanne and Cooper at the 4M Ranch for joining us to capture some Fall cattle work!

After a pretty dry summer, I wasn’t sure what we would find in fall color, but the aspens showed off as always. And thanks to some much-needed recent rains, we got those incredible, moody skies that make a landscape photographer’s heart happy. Give me golden aspens beneath a dramatic sky any day!

We appreciate everyone that makes the drive up to Trappers to join us! Matt, Chloe and Tangee, that Bison Coat was a huge hit!

We have two amazing hosts for this event: the Lodge owners, Kaysyn and Becca. Of course, it’s never just about the scenery. Kaysyn works tirelessly to line up wonderful models and locations that give us so many opportunities to create meaningful images. And Becca? She makes sure we’re all well-fed and taken care of, with delicious meals and warm hospitality that makes you feel right at home.

It’s a special combination: beautiful country, great people, and plenty of time behind the camera.

These are just a few of my many favorites from another memorable Colorado adventure.

So many wonderful folks to thank!

Brett and Lainey, Lee and Shannon, Breck, Tayler, Susan, Matt S. and Zoe, Haley, Kelsey and Landree

Stay tuned for details on our next Colorado Fall Equine Photography Adventure!

Until next time, keep shooting, keep learning, and most importantly, keep telling your stories through the lens.
