I am so excited to have connected with these ladies. After years of admiring their work from afar I made the decision to register for AOTC. What a great decision it was. I immediately felt comfortable and knew I was in the right place. All my insecurities about being with such well known and talented photographers in the equestrian world washed away because of how down to earth, friendly and welcoming everyone was.  The entire week I shot with Phyllis, Cara and Kim and also had the freedom to wonder and shoot anything that caught my eye. All three of these ladies were open books and happy to share their knowledge and experience the entire time. One of the really awesome things about them is that they all bring different expertise and experiences to the table so I could get all the help I need with me business. I was fortunate to have attended the 2022 Cowgirls with Cameras Workshop at the Cottonwood Ranch. I learned more in one day than I ever thought possible. I was dog tired and smiling ear to ear at the end of every day! I couldn’t have asked for a more knowledgeable and generous group of mentors! Phyllis, Cara, and Kim are the most perfect blend of knowledge and professionalism in photography, editing, life coaching, business and of course, horses! Because I’m new to the destination workshop experience, I think I learned the most the first few days just by watching them, in awe, and taking it all in…. Like a kid in a candy store!! Seeing my fellow workshop attendees after every shoot, editing their shots, trading their knowledge in such an open and comfortable setting, confirmed for me that this is where I belong. The owners of The Cottonwood Guest Ranch are as low key as they are accommodating in every way you could want. Each one of them, from the cook to the cowboys and ranch hands, the cowgirls, the kids, the dogs, and the horses are just pure joy and kindness every day. Last year I attended the Cowgirls with Cameras event at the Cottonwood Ranch and it was the farthest I have ever traveled to attend a workshop, let me just say I don’t regret it one bit!! Lodge is gorgeous, feels like home with wonderful food, fellowship and endless learning! Cara, Kim & Phyllis are all wonderful, they had numerous photo locations and models picked out, they fielded oodles of questions, and never once did I feel out of place or over my head! It was a relaxed feeling, where there are no “dumb” questions, all you had to do was ask it. We all made new friends, found old ones and learned lots of new photography tips and tricks whether in the field or behind our computers, or about business in general!! I would recommend to anyone interested in a great adventure coupled with a phenomenal learning experience to attend this workshop. It is a jam packed week! There is nothing else like it!! Becky F.
